DRIVE CO GROUP ACQUIRES DRIVESHARE, CREATING WORLD’S LARGEST CLASSIC CAR SHARING COMMUNITY

London, UK, 10 October 2023 - Drive Co, which owns and operates a group of companies, including BookAclassic, Vinty and Small Car Big City, acquired DriveShare, the peer-to-peer car sharing platform formerly owned by Hagerty (NYSE:HGTY), an automotive lifestyle brand and speciality insurance provider.

With this announcement, Drive Co moves into pole position as the world's largest online classic car sharing community, and brings all the companies within the Drive Co group under a single brand – DRIVESHARE.

The decision to acquire DriveShare aligns perfectly with Drive Co's commitment to providing the ‘complete package’ for classic car owners. With this expansion of their peer-to-peer car sharing offer – and the advanced technology of their platform – classic car enthusiasts can expect an enhanced and seamless experience under the new DRIVESHARE brand.

Hagerty made the strategic decision to divest DriveShare based on its business priorities – and knowing Drive Co's proven track record in the peer-to-peer car sharing space is the ideal platform to grow the community and ensure classic car enthusiasts can access an ever-expanding range of vehicles.

"At Drive Co, we are passionate about classic cars and the ecosystem that surrounds them," says Kent Mosbech, CEO of Drive Co. "The acquisition of DriveShare is a significant milestone and we are thrilled to continue delivering outstanding experiences to our community… and cement our position as the leader in this field."

This acquisition opens up new opportunities for classic car owners to connect with fellow enthusiasts, capitalise on their cherished vehicles and set off on unforgettable journeys. Drive Co's user-friendly platform not only empowers classic car owners to share their passion and monetise their assets, but contributes to the preservation of automotive heritage.

Drive Co now starts a process of integration with DriveShare throughout Q4, focusing on introducing the new DRIVESHARE branding and introducing exciting updates for the community. As part of this integration, Drive Co will temporarily suspend self-drive services across the group, as it collaborates with an insurance partner to streamline the classic car sharing experience. All existing bookings will be honoured and Drive Co will introduce a new self-drive product in the coming weeks.
